I have wrapped my dreams in a silken cloth,
And laid them away in a box of gold;
Where long will cling the lips of the moth,
I have wrapped my dreams in a silken cloth;
I hide no hate; I am not even wroth
Who found the earth's breath so keen and cold;
I have wrapped my dreams in a silken cloth,
And laid them away in a box of gold.
For You - Amanda Beltran
I locked my heart and gave you the key,
And held on to our memories,
Where only you could see,
I locked my heart and gave you the key,
but you threw it away along with me,
You've left me alone for what feels like centuries,
I locked my heart and gave you the key,
And held on to our memories.
I like your poem. I like the line "I locked my heart and gave you the key but you threw it away along with me." I like this line because what you say here happens all the time to people. When you give someone your heart they eventually throw it away along with you.

I think you did a great job of emulating Countee Cullens poem! My favorite lines would have to be the same as Tiaria's which are, "I locked my heart and gave you the key,/ but you threw it away along with me." These lines were the most important to me from your poem because they show how most relationships end. One question I have about your poem is, how did you come up with this topic? Have you gone threw it before?
